Carrotland is the colloquial name for the Norfolk and Suffolk areas of the Lotus 7 club who operate under one “umbrella”. Whilst it does occupy a relatively flat area of the country in East Anglia there are some fantastic roads which allow us to use our Se7ens to the full.
You can be assured of a very warm welcome when you come along to the monthly club night. Our members are a friendly bunch of people from all walks of life. Interests vary from track days to touring, and from the historic to the hi-tech. The one thing that we have in common is our interest in all things related to the Lotus and Caterham Seven.
If you are just interested, why not pop along and chat, we are pleased to welcome new and potential owners and members.
If you want to join the club, you can find out more and download an application form from the front page of the main club web site here: www.lotussevenclub.com

We are an area with a strong history of organising local and national events mostly due to an enlightened and active leadership and an enthusiastic membership.
The Carrotland area can be described as very active having a very well attended monthly meeting at the Scole Inn just off the A140 near Diss (Takes place 1st Monday in the month). Local events include an annual quiz night, and numerous other track and road driving events.
One day or part day drives take place, mostly on Sundays, with stops for coffee, pub lunch, and of course ice creams. These include the Spring warm up and Autumn finale plus more in between. Trips to the Kit Car show at Stoneleigh, factory tours to Prodrive and Arch Motors are some of the previous years factory visits. A popular afternoon drive each year is the Fish and Chip run to the Historic Suffolk coast. Many track days and evenings have been arranged at our local circuit at Snetterton.
Weekend events have included the Blue Light event, and anniversary events at Silverstone and Donnington.
Longer trips have included trips to France, the international meeting in Switzerland and numerous trips to Scotland and Wales lasting a week or more.
At the end of the year we have our Christmas dinner. This is a very informal affair with presentations to those who have “excelled” with any aspect of their 7 during the year. Accommodation is available for those who wish to make a complete night (and morning) of it. See our AOs enjoying themselves during the dinner, that’s Steve Wright (Norfolk Area Organiser) who lost his hat, and Geof Carlton-Smith (Suffolk Area Organiser) who finds it very funny.

In 2007, on behalf of the Lotus 7 Club, we organised and hosted the celebration of “50 years of the 7″ at the Norfolk Showground. A truly magnificent example of organisation and team work. The event included organised breakfast blats to Sandringham and Southwold, catering, displays, trade stands for all things 7, driving the Lotus test track and a tour of the Lotus factory at Hethel, gala celebration band and hog roast, and, more than anything, a fantastic forum where 7 enthusiasts from, literally, all around the world met. For more information on the event, visit www.50yearsofthe7.co.uk
As a precursor to the 50 years of the 7 Carrotland organised the first “Big Blat”. The event included a breakfast butty at the start, a route through scenic Suffolk and Norfolk, dinner and a final BBQ. This is not an annual event but check with Low Flying or our events page to see when it is next being run. What an event!

The main aim of our area is to provide a forum that offers something for all aspects of the se7ening experience be it track driving, road touring or tinkering. We look forward to seeing you.
